Inner Reflections….. New Inspirations….
Shall I pour out my soul deep into the darkness… I want to step out of my own heart and take a walk under a starlit sky in darkness.. in silence and speak with nothing but my true voice.. and only speak the things that matter..
What is the human mind, however enriched with acquisitions or strengthened by exercise, unaccompanied by an ardent and sensitive heart.. a light may illuminate but it cannot inspire.
Inspiration comes from many different places.. and for each individual, inspiration comes in many different forms. I was speaking with a friend of mine who is a visual artist by profession – graphics - and she has the ability to find inspiration in the tangible things that she sees around her – those visuals stimulate her creativity..
I have been wondering about exploring a different side of myself – however imagined it may be! – My creative side, but taken not from my poetry or writing – which I feel come naturally to me and often needs very little inspiration, since it is but my souls’ expression..
The funny thing about inspiration, its something that happens, its not something you can manufacture.. nor orchestrate.. I started this post with words that were roaming around inside my head.. about speaking – being one with my own voice. When your soul finds that voice and finds the inspiration that gives that voice the words you long to say to birth your ideas, your desires, your dreams.. then you feel as if you found a sense of fulfillment.
So I decided that the next few posts are going to encompass writings of a new flavour.. birthed by something completely new to me - not sure which avenue it will find its outlet..
Usually I find enormous inspiration when I travel..
One day I was basking in the warm Italian Sun in the breath-taking city of Venice, a magical city built on water.. I stood alone head resting in one palm, on a bridge that runs over the age-old canals - watching the tourists excitedly on their gondola rides, chattering away, mouths agape with wonder at the architecture, the uniqueness of the whole experience. For one second I closed my eyes and just silenced my thoughts.. I listened to the sounds of the water, the foot steps on the cobblestone walkways, the sounds of people’s voices in accents and languages from around the globe. I drew in a breath to inhale Venice.. the faint smell of various restaurant cuisine, the smell of the water beneath me remnant of the decades of history it holds and it felt as though Venice seeped into the veins of my heart.. running through every chamber of who I am.. and that one moment in my life.. gave me the inspiration to write many a poem…

My endeavour this time is to find inspiration in the most unusual or most usual of places and see if my capacity can hold and express what i find.
"Give me the strength that waits upon You in silence and peace.
"Give me the strength that waits upon You in silence and peace.
Give me humility in which alone is rest, and deliver me from pride which is the heaviest of burdens.
And possess my whole heart and soul with the simplicity of love.
Occupy my whole life with the one thought and the one desire of love, that I may love not for the sake of merit, not for the sake of perfection, not for the sake of virtue, not for the sake of sanctity,
For there is only one thing that can satisfy love and reward it, the passion in my heart.. "
